2006 President's Message
The scientific program continues the high standards we have come to expect at our meeting. The latest techniques in carotid interventions will be discussed as well as new therapies for lower extremity revascularization. Panel discussions and special topics sessions will address new devices for endovascular aneurysm repair. The Distinguished Guest Lecture will be given by Dr. George Sheldon, one of the most influential figures in American surgery and an early proponent of specialized vascular training. Mock orals and a post graduate course will take place on the Wednesday preceding the scientific program.
All of us are proud of our membership in the SAVS. Under the stewardship of Secretary-Treasurer Hansen, the membership continues to grow, the organization is financially sound, and recent attendance at the annual meetings is the highest in the history of the Society. The annual assembly is a time to learn from each other, meet with old friends and welcome new members to the group. The dinners and activities planned this year will be held in a beautiful setting and will provide enjoyment for all members of the family.
Hope to see you in January,
